Lois Benson-Adautin, commonly known as Yoda, is a Lagos based photographer, stylist and creative director. She believes that her hard work and dedication are what distinguish her from others and define her individuality.

“I'm really committed to my work when I get into it, I love when my vision comes to life, so I just work diligently until my vision is reality.”

Yoda rarely shies away from any challenge or chance to learn. When asked what the most valuable lesson she has learned is, she says:

“Just keep creating. Just keep doing your thing till you get better and better at it. Making a mark is hard, but not doing what you love, not acknowledging that you have a talent that has the potential to do great things for you, is the worst thing you can do to yourself. Keep doing your thing and the work would speak for itself”.

She also shares with us how she finds the motivation to stay on track when things seem difficult.

“I take time off to re-evaluate and rest, when things get overwhelming for me, I take time off shooting, creating to rest and recharge”.

As the interview came to a close, she rounded off by giving some additional words of motivation.

“This isn't going to be an easy road. a lot of times it will hit you that you're really here, you've really made the decision to be in this creative space and you've chosen this as a path and it's a very uncertain path but when it happens for you it happens. one day you're here and another day you're 2255 miles higher than you could've ever imagined, just keep creating.”
