Before taking the stage at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, opening for the phenomenal Bad Bunny, Puerto Rican group Chuwi entertained a sold-out crowd with their first-ever London headline show, presented by Hennessy. Bringing the essence and vibe of Puerto Rico to the London heatwave, the crowd embraced the energy from start to finish.

​The show took place at the peak of a heatwave and gave a strong Puerto Rican summer feel as the group took to NT’s Loft, playing to a sold-out crowd and entertaining the masses ahead of their opening slot on Bad Bunny’s DeBí TiRAR MáS FOToS world tour.

For the group, made up of siblings Lorén, Wester and Willy, alongside childhood friend Adrian Lopez, it was their first time playing in London. The energy they brought and received from the crowd was a real moment for them. The show lasted just over an hour, showcasing their musical style and Puerto Rican flavour to the London crowd.

Formed during COVID, they have released music since then, including several EPs and singles that have grown their fanbase and popularity over the years. A significant moment in their musical journey came with the inclusion of Bad Bunny’s 2025 DeBí TiRAR MáS FOToS, on which they featured on WELTiTA. Since then, they have garnered international attention. They joined him as part of his No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí residency and the subsequent world tour, which is currently underway.

Beyond Bad Bunny, they have won fans over with their indie-electric sound and a musicality that blends with the vocals of Loren, Willy and Wester. Earlier this year, they featured on Tiny Desk, a sneak peek of what they have to offer.

Now, with their headline show, the energy was amplified, and the whole room was singing along, making it feel more like a jam session than a show.

The setlist included tracks like Uwu, which they opened with, as well as Judy, Durmiendo, Mundi, Bipal Falta Algo and Tierra, before closing with WELTiTA. As an introduction to the group for a London crowd, there is no doubt that their energy has travelled well beyond Puerto Rico, representing their current impact and everything that has unfolded over the last year. As somebody who is a fan of music in general despite the language barrier, there is nothing that speaks greater than the feeling that music gives and how it moves, and the performance Chuwi gave was a strong representation of how that was brought to the UK.

​The sweltering heat and crowd energy were felt as you came up the stairs into the venue, and it was a memorable feeling from entering to leaving. As we continue to watch the group, we look forward to their next show.
