Lemi Ghariokwu born in Lagos in 1955, is a celebrated Nigerian artist and designer best known for his iconic album covers for Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti. His vibrant, bold, and politically charged artworks reflect the spirit of Afrobeat and have left an indelible mark on the world of music and visual arts.

Ghariokwu’s collaboration with Fela Kuti produced some of the most memorable album covers in music history, including "Zombie" and "Expensive Shit." His art not only captured the essence of Fela’s music but also highlighted socio-political issues in Nigeria. 

With over 2,000 album covers for artists such Bob Marley, Lucky Dube, Felix Liberty, Osita Osadebe, Falz and many more to his name and global exhibitions of his work, Ghariokwu remains a pivotal figure in African art. His ability to fuse art with activism continues to inspire and provoke thought, solidifying his status as a cultural icon and a true maestro of visual art.
