3 Osheaga Acts You Can’t Miss

Authored by

This Friday marks DEEDS’ first time at Osheaga. The 20 year old music festival takes place every summer at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal, Quebec. The multi-day event has hosted the likes of SZA, Childish Gambino, Travis Scott, and more. It is one of the biggest music festivals in Canada.

This year’s lineup at Osheaga is stacked with heavy hitters including Lord, Gunna, Zara Larsson and Tate McRae. But amidst this lineup lies various amazing Black Canadian acts that we can’t wait to see in action.

Avenoir

Raised in South Africa but now based in Edmonton, the dark-R&B crooner caught our attention with his sultry, entrancing melodies and smooth vocals. The release of his debut album, Mirage, last year, definitely established him as one of the most exciting R&B acts out right now. We can’t wait to see how he translates his music onto the stage!

BAMBII

Ain’t no party like a BAMBII party (if you know, you know). The Toronto-raised, Jamaican DJ and producer captivates every stage she graces with her unique blend of electronic genres and  dancehall. She also made her mark this year after featuring alongside Madison Beer on Zara Larsson’s deluxe album, Midnight Sun: Girls Trip. We can’t wait to move with her!

Fernie

Known for his vivid storytelling and vulnerable lyricism, the Brazilian-born, Montreal-raised artist builds lush soundscapes across pop and R&B. With a falsetto that just won’t quit, Fernie seamlessly transforms painful experiences into beauty through his music. We can’t wait to be serenaded by him!
