Keynote by Bidemi Popson: The event was highlighted by a thought-provoking speech from Bidemi Popson, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in achieving a unified vision. Popson candidly addressed the current state of affairs in Nigeria, stressing the need for unity and cooperation: “We can do this all together because, in a few years, Africa will be… but the truth is that we don't like each other.”
Attendees were treated to the premiere of “BreakDown 88,” envisioned by Program Director Folabomi Animashaun. A vibrant Q&A session followed, featuring discussions with artists like Straffiti, God-li, Tobechukwu, and Idris King, hosted by JH and Bidemi Popson. The evening also included heartfelt tributes to Popson from Olatide Wright and King Ebuka.
The event culminated with a surprise performance by Straffitti, who thrilled the audience with his hit, 'Calypso Riddim,' marking a significant achievement in his career. Bidemi Popson expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support throughout his journey: “Everyone here is family and has seen me go from cutting Turkey when I owned a restaurant to cutting clips to launching a Digital network.”
