Kody Phillips, the creative genius and skillful designer that constantly manages to pull out all the tricks of the imaginative trade.
Phillips presented a bespoke co’ord that pays homage to the rich legacy of Black dandyism. The New York designer was commissioned ahead of Met Gala week and crafted the attire in just three days. The ensemble featured a cream-coloured three piece suit, including a tailored jacket and trousers, with Philips’ signature embossed on the sleeve in glossy gold. A vest with a monochromatic pallette which was polka-dotted. Then completing the look, a hand-crafted Martin Luther King Jr. breast pin and ornate broaches which infused the historical significance and honouring Black legacy.
